Greetings from Jos!
We have been back in Nigeria for just over two weeks and are feeling settled back into life and work and school here.
Dan seems to be adjusting to High School well and is managing to keep up with all the homework. He is now learning French for the first time and is taking great delight in coming out with random French phrases whenever he does not want to answer a question from us.
I (Ali) have gotten stuck back into my task to update the information about Nigerian languages and translation projects in our organisations database so that it can be shared with other organisations involved in Bible Translation. I am also working with people in several countries across Africa, including Ethiopia, Tanzania and South Africa, to help them understand the process to get their information up to date.
Tim worked hard while we were in the UK to keep up with his e-mail and deal with the key ones immediately so he has been able to get back into the swing of things quite quickly. There are some very difficult situations in our organisation that he is helping to deal with at the moment so please pray for grace and wisdom for him and the rest of the leadership team.
When is a coin worthless?
Our good friends and upstairs’ neighbours shared a great story in their recent newsletter that really helps to illustrate why Bible Translation is not a straightforward as you might think. We shared it on our blog and social media last week – you can find it here.

Praise — We are settling back into life here without too many hiccups — There were two days of national holiday this week which gave us a chance to breathe!
Prayer — Ali is getting a lot of headaches at the moment and feeling tired as a result, please pray for healing — Godly resolution of the difficult situations in our organisation
